You Will Never Guess What I’m About To Tell You..

โ€œThis is the first two-story, first masonry structure in the Unassigned Landsโ€ (Before I get into this post – the above quote talks about the “unassigned lands.” I want to be clear that this district sits on Gรกuigรบ (Kiowa), ๐“๐’ฐ๐““๐’ฐ๐““๐’ท ๐’ผ๐“‚๐“Š๐’ป ๐“†๐’ป๐’ฟ๐’ท ๐“€๐’ฐ^๐““๐’ฐ^(Osage), Wichita, Nส‰mส‰nส‰ส‰ Sookobitส‰ (Comanche), and Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo) land. It still is.) Back in 2013, The Oklahoman ran a story about the building that we – EVOKE – called home in Downtown Edmond. It was an interview with our landlord, David Hornbeek. Wait! I have never talked to you about 1708?

On Sundays (ok, really it isn’t EVERY Sunday but we do try to make it a weekly thing), a group of us and our families meet at Arcadia Lake in Edmond for coffee and trail time. These are the two that I most often associate with when using the term community I think. Maybe it is the COVID…

Strong Communities: It’s More Than Just A Commute

Mobility is the ability to move or be moved freely and easily. Freely and easily (maybe even safely). Let’s think about that for a minute. I came across this post tonight as I was scrolling through Twitter. It almost got buried in the mess of all the back and forth on leadership and pandemics and medical research and expertise. (Wow, more on leadership coming soon I think.). Isn’t it great? Mobility is more than just โ€œtime spentโ€ getting from A to B. It has sensory, emotional, and social qualities we seldom consider or discuss. @Modacity It hit me. It came…

#rallyforcoffee – happening on April 11th, 2020 The coffee industry is in the middle of a crisis and they need our help. Coffee shops and their employees have been devastated by the effects of COVID-19 and social distancing measures. That’s why we’re asking everyone to #RallyforCoffee on Saturday, April 11th by making a purchase online or for takeout at your local coffee shop. www.rallyforcoffee.org Today, I saw another really cool initiative launch called Rally For Coffee. Backed by a great group of people, Created Co, this movement is all about creating action on a single day to show the coffee…
